Boy receives serious head injuries after fight with gang of seven youths

A 16-year-old boy received serious head injuries after being involved in a fight with a group of youngsters on Kings Road between 9.45pm and 10pm on Saturday 1st October.

The incident took place opposite the Pitcher and Piano bar where the local victim was punched and kicked by the gang of six boys and one girl who are thought to be aged between 14 and 16.

The group were seen running off in the direction of West Street.

The victim spend two days at Royal Sussex County Hospital before being discharged.

A 16-year-old boy from Crawley has been arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and has been released on police bail until 3rd December.
