Driver sought by police after causing eight car shunt on A27

Sussex Police officers investigating an eight-car shunt on the A27 this morning would like to have a ‘little chat’ with the driver of a black hatchback who may have caused the incident.

The accident, which left one woman with a minor neck injury, is believed to have been initiated by what police described as ‘a not particularly clever piece of driving’.

The cars collided on the eastbound carriageway of the A27 at Hangleton at 7.44am this morning.

A police spokesman said: “This looks as though it may have been initiated by a not particularly clever piece of driving by the driver of a small black hatchback who didn’t hang around to view the result. We’d like a little chat with them.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 187 of 18/01.
