One of Bill Randall‘s first engagements as the new leader of Brighton and Hove City Council will be to hear the concerns of residents in the St James’s Street area of Brighton.
The Green Party leader, who is set to formally be confirmed as the new council leader at the first Full Council meeting on 19th May, will 24 hours earlier be attending the St James’s Area Action Group’s AGM.
Chair of St James’s Area Action Group, Simon Burgess, who is a previous council leader under a Labour administration, said: “I’m really pleased that Bill is going to come along and hear the priorities and concerns of local residents and businesses, I’m sure he will be ready for the straight talking that St Lames’s is known for.
“The discussion with him will I hope encourage residents and business people to put themselves forward to be officers at the meeting.
“The group was reformed two years ago and myself and Cllr. Ben Duncan have been the Chair and vice-Chair for that time. We have announced that we won’t be standing again, we are looking forward to local people taking on the vital work of the group. All local residents and business people are very welcome at the meeting.”
The AGM will be held on Wednesday 18th May at 7pm at Dorset Gardens Methodist Church.
