Man fighting for life after electric shock at North Laine substation

A 40-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after being electrocuted at a power substation in the North Laine area of Brighton.

The man is in a critical condition following the incident, which took place at Spring Gardens off North Road at 4.20am this morning (25th October).

Police officers had been in the area before the incident as they had been ‘concerned for the man’s safety’ and as a result the Independent Police Complaints Commission had been notified.

The man was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital.
