Two men from Brighton were robbed at knifepoint by a gang of teenagers in the early hours of this morning (Friday, 13 May) as they walked along Carden Avenue in Patcham.
The men, aged 20 and 19, were approached by a group of about eight teenagers at around 1.40am near the church on Carden Avenue and asked for the time before being surrounded by the group.
One of the gang had a knife and shouted: “Give me your phone and wallets or I’ll cut your face.”
The victims handed over their phones and wallets and the suspects ran off in the direction of Warmdene Close.
Detective Sergeant Duncan Elliot of Brighton CID said: “This was an intimidating and unprovoked attack on two young men walking home after a night out. Luckily, due to the men complying with the teenagers they did not receive any injuries.”
The suspect with the knife is described as white, 17, 5’11″ of slim build with dark blonde hair and a fringe down to his eyebrows. He was wearing a baseball cap hidden underneath a grey hooded top.
The suspect who asked for the time is described as black, 16, around 5″5′ of small build with short shaven black hair. He was wearing a light blue hooded top with the hood covering his head. He was also wearing a grey and black Addidas T-shirt and white trainers.
The other suspects were all wearing hooded tops.
