Teenage girl attacked in Portslade
A teenage girl was attacked in Portslade this morning (Friday 3rd September) by a man, who it is believed was disturbed by a passing motorist.
The 17-year-old was attacked in Mill Lane, Portslade, at around 1.20am when the man attempted to grab the girl and pushed her against a wall, during which she sustained superficial injuries.
Police has arrested a man in connection with this incident.
Detective Constable Amanda Payne said: “The victim has been left very shaken by the attack. The man’s intentions are unclear and detectives remain open-minded to the possibility the attack was either an attempted robbery or sexually motivated. He was interrupted by a passing car and I am keen to trace this driver, who may hold important information.”
The suspect is described as black, 5’6″, slim and aged between 20 and 30. He had rough shaven hair, stubble and was wearing a black hoodie and jeans.
