Elderly couple from Saltdean burgled as they slept

Two burglars have targeted an elderly couple in Saltdean as they slept in the early hours of yesterday morning (30th November).

The couple woke to find the two men wearing stockings over their faces in their bedroom in their home in Withyham Avenue at around 1.50am.

The men, one of whom is described as being around 5’10 and of large build, stole jewellery, money and a computer before running from the property.

Detective Constable Rowan Carter said: “This has been a terrible experience for the couple and we are doing everything we can to find these two men. We believe they ran up a pathway by Longridge Avenue towards Marine Drive. If you were in this area at this time and saw anything suspicious please contact us immediately.”
