Serial flasher from Brighton avoids jail

A man who repeatedly exposed himself in the Woodingdean area of Brighton has avoided jail after being sentenced at Lewes Cown Court.

Marian Suchodolinsky, 26, of Sandhurst Avenue, Brighton, was however sentenced to six months imprisonment suspended for two years after pleading guilty to five counts of indecent exposure and trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence at an earlier hearing.

He was caught as part of a plain clothed police operation in the area after reports of a man exposing himself to women in gardens between March and August 2010. Officers caught Suchodolinsky at the scene of a home he had previously targeted twice before.

Detective Inspector Lee Horner said: “Detectives worked alongside neighbourhood officers to undertake a plain-clothed police operation to catch someone who repeatedly indecently exposed himself to women in the gardens of their own homes.

“Although Suchodolinsky never attempted to enter the homes or make physical contact with anyone, this has been incredibly distressing for his victims and of great concern to the local community. I’d like to thank local residents for their support during this investigation.”
