Places to eat in Brighton: Bill’s Produce Store

Throughout September News From Brighton will be highlighting a place to eat in Brighton and Hove each day to celebrate the latest Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival. Today’s offering is Bill’s Produce Store.

Bill’s has a cult following within Brighton and it is often cited as one of the things missed most when leaving the city, but for those unfamiliar with the place here is a bried overview of what it is about:

Bill’s Produce Store is a simple, yet elegant, combination of a marketplace and a cafe – the like of which is unique, in Brighton at least. It is run by a team who are clearly passionate about food and if you are too you will not be able to resist becoming a regular, both to shop and eat.

Produce on offer includes organic fruit and vegetables (including many exotic varieties), herbs, flowers and plants, groceries, hampers, while the menu is as far removed from a greasy-spoon-cafe as it is possible to be.

The offerings have a distinctly home-made feel, but if you are not hungry stop for a milkshake or smoothly and enjoy the fantastic ambience.
