The inaugural Shakedown festival finally took place at Stanmer Park on Saturday and appears to have been a success with music fans, many of which left raving about the performance from Ed Sheeran.
The 20-year-old singer-songwriter is currently top of the album chart with ‘+’ and his performances at Stanmer Park are likely to have won him more fans.
After the festival Ed Sheeran wrote on Twitter: “Brighton shakedown was wiiiiiicked!!!”
The one-day event also saw Razorlight, Extreme and Zane Lowe perform to the thousands of fans, who largely avoided showers that threatened to dampen the day.
The festival was delayed from its original date of July 9th as more time was needed to ensure safety arrangements were in place.
Tickets were still on sale on the day, so it remains to be seen if the organisers will repeat the festival in 2012, but there seemed to be very few complaints from those that attended the first Shakedown.
