Frankie Cocozza survives judges’ vote

Woodingdean singer Frankie Cocozza is still in the X Factor after surviving the judges’ vote in tonight’s elimination from the hit ITV show.

The teenager was in the bottom two after the public seemingly were not impressed by his performance of Coldplay’s The Scientist on Saturday’s night.

He was in the bottom two with Nu Vibe – a boy band created out of singers deemed not good enough to be soloists – and his fate was in the hands of Kelly Rowland and Louis Walsh.

Both judges elected to send home Nu Vibe, who had given a weak performance of U2′s With or Without You on Saturday and their cover of a Cheryl Cole song tonight also failed to impress.

His mentor Gary Barlow expressed shock at finding one of his acts in the bottom two, but based on comments posted on Twitter this weekend it should not have come as too much of a surprise.

Cocozza has become a tabloid favourite and is being portrayed in the media as a promiscuous cheeky chappy, but appears to be struggling to win over the public as a result.
