Brighton and Hove embraces Halloween more than most places in the UK so there are guaranteed to be plenty of events and parties taking place in the city over the Halloween weekend.
Before then, the Zombie Parade in the centre of Brighton takes place on Saturday 22nd October, which if you have not seen before is the day when the undead converge on Brighton for an afternoon of surreality.
Friday 28th October
Smugglers in the Lanes are hosting a Halloween party with live music from The Jives. Party starts at 9am.
Saltdean Tavern Pub are hosting a Children’s Halloween Party from 3pm as part of the local campaign to Save Saltdean Lido. There will be many Halloween themed activities for kids including spooky games, face painting and a disco. Fancy dress is encouraged and the event is suitable for under 12s. Tickets cost £2.50 per child.
Saturday 29th October
The Preston Park fireworks and halloween party night has been cancelled.
There is also an Autumn Lantern Walk taking place in Preston Park at the same time. The event for Children up to 13-years of age has been organised by Friends of Preston Park. Find out more here.
The famous Ghost Walk of the Lanes will be offering special Halloween walks. The walks will be starting from the Druid’s Head Pub on Brighton Place at 7.30pm, 9pm and 10.30pm. Are you brave enough. Find out more here.
Monday 31st October
Before the kids go out trick or treating they can make scary sweets and treats at Friends Meeting House in Brighton. Cookery Doodle Doo will be on hand to help make very cheeky coconut ice mice and naughty ants. There will be prizes on offer for the cooks in the best fancy dress outfits. Hangleton Manor in Hove is hosting a Halloween Ghost Hunt from 4.30pm. Children can search the grounds of the historic building in search of ghosts. It will cost £3 to enter and all children will receive a prize. There will also be lots of other activities for the children to take part in.
The Ghost Walk of the Lanes (see above) will be starting at 7.30pm and 9pm.
