Park and ride scheme in place for music festival

Music fans attending Saturday’s inaugural Shakedown Festival have been urged to use public transport or a park and ride system as Stanmer Park will be a car free zone for the event.

The festival is to include, among others, Ed Sheeran, Razorlight, Example, 2manydjs, Freemasons and Zane Lowe, while recent additions to the line-up are Judge Jules and Jacob Plant.

Tickets remains available to buy and are available for £35 before Saturday and £45 on the day.

Shakedown was due to be held earlier this summer, but was delayed due to concerns over the safety arrangements for the festival.

The Park and Ride scheme will be in operation from Brighton Racecourse, while an extensive bus operation will be in ferrying people form Brighton to Stanmer Park and back again throughout the day.

To park at the racecourse will cost £10 per car and £3 per passenger.

Falmer Station will be open for arriving festival goers, but will be closed to those leaving the festival from 8pm due to the size of the platform.
