Caroline Lucas on ‘Ladies of Today’ list

The Green Party leader Caroline Lucas has been named on a list of the 125 most ‘intelligent, empowered and inspirational’ ladies of today in the respected publication The Lady.

Lucas is currently leading, according to polls, the race to become MP for Brighton Pavilion and in doing so become the first Green MP. She already represents the South East as an MEP.

She has a wide range in women for company on the list, from the Queen and Dame Judi Dench to Tracey Emin and Barbara Windsor.

The decision to include Lucas is perhaps a little surprising, as The Lady’s editor is Rachel Johnson, who is sister of London’s Mayor and Conservative Boris Johnson

Rachel Johnson said: “A distinguished panel at The Lady and beyond put their heads together and after many weeks of lively, free and frank (ie vicious) argument settled on the 125 women we regard as Ladies of Today.”
