Vince Cable, the Business Secretary to the Government, has received a tough reception at the GMB trade union conference in Brighton this morning.
The annual conference of the general trade union, which is being held at the Brighton Centre on King’s Road, begun yesterday and will continue in the city until Thursday 9th June.
Vince Cable begun his address to the audience to the sound of boos and heckles and was later questioned at length by delegates from branches of the GMB from across the country.
The senior Liberal Democrat MP, who warned delegates against undertaking a mass strike, was challenged on his perceived support of Conservative policy which was at odds with his statements prior to the 2010 general election.
