Opposition spokesperson, Cllr Gill Mitchell, wisely asked for justification of the expected visitors figures. Developers presenting gushed out the huge numbers of people living 2 hours from Brighton. North, that puts you in St. Albans! Hampshire to the west and the North Sea to the east. Why would these millions rush to Brighton just to get in a double-glazed lift to the top floor of a pole?

Disabled and elderly people will not be able to access The Keep unless driven there. The walk from Falmer station will be a good half hour for those not young, able-bodied and fleet of foot. But I bet the section of the report in the agenda for ‘equalities issues’ will say ‘none’.

Let’s be factual: he isn’t just a Green Councillor. He is an executive member of the Green Administration and a ”cabinet” officer. He must seek to represent all of the city, regardless of politics etc.

Damaging comments? Doubtless. But he is also a man in charge of a budget. How much longer can Ben Duncan’s “oh it’s just Ben” outbursts be tolerated?

A discussion about drugs decriminalisation is a good one to have. Whether he is right to joke about rape rather detracts from his cause.

The way I see it is this: Nobody has ever died from smoking too much weed, and it’s not physically addictive.

It should be more about educating people to the perils of weed, which there are – and I for one know all about it’s negative effects. That said, I still enjoy a good smoke from time to time!People should also be aware that if alcohol was ‘discovered’ in these times – it would be outlawed due to it’s addictive traits.

Go for it Brighton, be brave, be pioneering!
