Bevendean shop robbed for second time in 48 hours

A convenience store in Bevendean has been robbed for the second time in 48 hours.

A man stole lager from the Happy Shopper on Upper Bevendean Avenue at 4.40pm yesterday afternoon (13th October) after a struggle with the shopkeeper. The suspect threatened the victim with a knife during the incident.

The victim was left shaken but unharmed in the incident, which came two days after a man stole cash from the store and inflicted a superficial knife wound on a man working in the shop.

The suspect of the latest incident is described as white, aged 19 or 20, 5’5″ and of medium build. He had blond hair and was wearing a purple t-shirt or polo shirt with a black jumper.

Police do not believe the two incidents are linked, but are linking the Bevendean robbery on 11th October with a robbery in Coldean a little over 12 hours later on 12th October.

Anyone who can help police with their investigations should call 0845 60 70 999.
