Car crashes through wall after collision with police car

A woman was taken to hospital after a collision involving a police car early on Tuesday morning (26th April).

The accident happened at around 7.30am this morning at the junction between Carden Avenue and Sunnydale Avenue in Patcham.

The car crashed through a garden wall on the corner of the road following the collision with the police car. The driver was taken to hospital as a precaution and was joined by her daughter who appeared to be uninjured by the accident.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “The Sergeant driving the police vehicle, who was the sole occupant, was shocked but unhurt. He was on his way to give emergency assistance to colleagues dealing with a disturbance in Hove, which was later safely resolved.

“The cause of the collision is being investigated by Road Policing officers.”
