Mike Holland’s West Pier proposal illustrated

Property developer Mike Holland has released images showing his view for a rebuilt West Pier.

Mr Holland revealed last month that he was interested in redeveloping what is left of the iconic pier so that it was restored by 2016 for its 150th anniversary.

The West Pier has been shut to the public since 1975 and was destroyed by a fire in 2003.

Mr Holland’s plans, which he has claimed will cost £25m to implement, include a raised walkway linking the seafront to a three-tier structure.

The West Pier Trust has reiterated their plan for the construction of the i360 at the foot of the pier and want this to go ahead before a redevelopment of the pier itself can go ahead.
